My Only Political Blog: Sarah Palin

Current mood:  amused
Category: News and Politics
This will be my only political blog I will ever write so enjoy it in its rarity.
Tonight I was invited by my good friend Michael the Rochester Guy to watch Sarah Palins speech and report back what my thoughts were.
So here we go:
First I will say that the lady is more CHARMING than any lady in politics I have EVER seen.
She quite frankly had me in goosebumps.
She even had a cute little laugh and a very attractive family to go with it.
Her speech was excellent in content, to the point and was not a "showboating" stunt.
She was very humble and I firmly believed in her sincerity.
If she doesnt really feel what she said is true, then she deserves the Oscar award, truly.
I will go point by point in the things she said that caught my disagreement thoughts in order of how she presented them in her speech. (I took notes...lol)
She blasted Obama for wanting to pull out our troops when "victory is in sight".
Sorry, the loss of a great percentage of our soldiers for the sake of Democracy for Iraq (we didnt pull out after finding that WMD's were a figment of Bush's imagination, and so consequently, many died for just making Iraq a democracy), is NOT a "victory"

She also made light that her eldest son is going to Iraq in 2 weeks in the Infantry (thats the FRONT lines folks), how in the WORLD can she be so happy that her son can be facing CERTAIN death.
She went on to boost small town integrity and that its people who come from small towns that are truly honest and sincere individuals who are great for political office.
While this may be true back in the 70s and before, it is no LONGER true.
How do I know this? I'm in Iowa and my experiences from this humble State have showed me that its the politics in the smaller towns and the rules even in banking that get broken because there is a lot less chance of discovery of these infractions.
The Sheriffs of small towns here even make your life miserable and are unanswerable to their own crookedness if a formal complaint is files.
Small towns are crooked as hell.
She said something pretty much under her breath about what she herself believes makes it that shes a good candidate for VP.
She is going to rule with a "servants heart"
That was her DIRECT quote.
On face value, it can be construed as "public servant", but deep down, does she also mean "Gods Servant"?
If this is a core belief that she thinks we should put God in there too, I want no part of it.
Michael, you might find this next quote interesting.
You said in my list of 20 blog that idealism was dead in the 60s.
Well...she quoted that McCain is good for Presidency for his "idealism"...uh-oh!
I dont know how you sit with that!!
She downed Obama saying she doesnt want a President that will be sitting in the oval office for "Self discovery".
Point taken and it was a bullet to Obamas heart.
That was a doosy!
The thing I didnt like about Sarah is that she used one fourth of her speech capitalizing on McCains military service to make him look good for presidency.
When you have fought 22 years for your country and did what was it? 5 years as a POW?
well, it seems to be that fighting would be a MO as a solution to all your problems.
He even admitted himself that he will fight for "however long its necessary"...which means "infinite"
"who cares how many die"
In conclusion, the thing I DID like most about Sarah is that she is REAL, convincing and made a HUGE point about making America independent in its Energy resources and I'm all for that Baby!!!
But a good part of why I want that myself is so we wont have ANY interest in protecting foreign resources so that we wont need to go to war about THAT.
Yet she is running as VP for a war monger, so in that part she is contradictory.
I like her but she has some self opposing ideas but all in all shes a very compassionate lady.
Maybe SHE should be the Presidential candidate vs Obama.
