80s Pop Music Video Blog from my collection:

Daily Music Video Blog 80s pop for Sun Jul 27th
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Music

I'm back to my daily blogs again even though I'm not done with my spring cleaning. The stuff I have left can only be done in daylight so my nights are free again.

I took into careful consideration what I thought would please all my readers to keep it "fun".

Heres what I came up with:

The majority like heavy metal/hair metal so from Mondays-Fridays, the video that I will give info about, will be the metal video.

Saturdays and Sundays, I will be commenting on Top 40 of the year pop music from 1980-1989 and posting those videos. However, because there are so many fun videos of the pop genre too, I will ALSO post a daily pop video alongside the heavy metal video in each blogs first comment just to view, although I will not be giving info about that artist. I will just answer any info in my replies to your comments about those particular pop videos.

Ok, this is Sunday so we start with a Pop video.

This is sorta like MY version of MTV's launch.(dont care if that seems chessy...lol). What better video is there to start with about pop music than the SONG Pop Muzik by "M". It also is on the top 40 of 1980 which came in at number 40 for the year...hahaha!! thats bad that my first is a number 40...right? But in December 1979 it peaked at number 1 on Billboards top 100 pop chart.

I did like this song and actually bought the "45" of it when I was in 11th grade right after it came out.

My friend in the Army...(not Mike), but a kind of friend you like to run and hide from, you know the type (super geek that embarrasses you in public), actually sang this song word for word as if he were singing "Free Bird" or something big time inspiring!!

I about DIED when I saw the seriousness in his expression as he sang it, PRICELESS!

Robin Scott lead singer was trying to convey a message that although rock pop music definitely had a generation gap, disco that came in the mid to late 70s did a good job of closing a generational gap with fans of disco pop genre.

One of the sight gags in the video depicted a rather plain-looking woman actually recording the backup vocals, which are then mimed by the female models.

David Bowie actually did occasional handclaps in the songs track.

"Tricky" released a 1999 cover version of Pop Muzik for a B-side to his single "For Real".

A nice thing about this video, is that Robin Shows us that with enough concentration, we can all play the drums!!

Doesnt matter that he is playing a 1-piece...lol

I want to also add that starting now, I will be posting any vids I have to get from youtube, in the first comment section along with the lyrics below it.

Welcome back everybody and thanks for being patient while I was busy. (now I can LEGALLY flirt with Alex's female commenters in HIS blog. :o)
