DJ Random Randy: The Guy in my profile:

Current mood:  hopeful
Category: Music

I felt it was time to give a friend some recognition he deserves after watching him plugging away daily at composing the very music we are trying to save.
His name is "DJ Random Randy" and I met him through myspace some time ago.

He is a very hard worker and continuously keeps an open line of communication between himself and his fans, much like Bon Jovi's "Pizza Jury".

He has people come to his profile and have them sample his music and give him input as to what they themselves think can be done to improve the song.

Randy

He LISTENS too! I gave him a suggestion and he did what I suggested, added a few elements and the track was hittin! Listen to: "The Great Escape 2" on his mp3 player, which is the song I'm referring to.

Randy has expressed that he himself also feels that hip hop is getting old and he wanted to take a new approach by making some kind of fusion between some fresher elements, mixed in with the traditional GOA/Trance and maybe acid that one would be dancing to at the concerts like Raves and Sensation concerts.

His influences are listed as:

Basic Element,Cosmic Gate,Real Mccoy,DJ Dean,2unlimited,Ace of Base,Bloodhound Gang,Capital Sound,Dougal and Gammer,Fischerspooner,dj tiesto,felix da housecat,Lasgo,Marshall Jefferson,Frankie Knuckles,Timbaland,Dr.Dre,Infected Mushroom, and soundclick artist deepdarktrance.video game music especially from sonic games from the 90's.

I can certainly hear those game noises in there and it does add a bit of fun as long as they are used moderately.

Notice he listed some of the most CLASSICAL bands of Eurodance in its original form and then he went the very same direction I did.

Frankie Knuckles (Starsplash)...EXCELLENT!!
Lasgo...oh we ALL know how good Peter Lutz gets those keyboards pumping!
Cosmic Gate for some real trance.
Fischerspooner for some experimental techno.
Dj Dean for fresh sound.

Randy has EXTREMELY good taste and its no wonder I'm bragging up his work here!

Here are some things he had to say in his profile about himself:

"Out of boredom I played with vintage drum machines and synthesizers. That same night I checked out FL Studio 7 and got hooked"

OK, and thats exactly what you do to get INTO synthesizers because they are EXTREMELY intimidating until you get used to them and the music it puts out is a direct reflection of your individual personality.
Fruity Loops is a great program to use and is also used by our beloved "Basshunter"

"I eventually put myself under the category experimental dance music. I really have came a long way from sounding like I do today. Compare my July material with December's its like how the hell did you get that much better? I say it's experience. Everyday I would open up the computer program to try out all kinds of stuff. I try to compose as many different categories as I can "

EXACTLY Randy!, and in todays world its PERTINENT that you DO compose different categories because so much has already been used, and I must say you have done a VERY good job of this.

Randy was nice enough to put me in his top friends list and unknowingly placed me RIGHT BESIDE MY 2ND FAVORITE Eurodance singer: Kate Ryan!!! lol How cool is that?

I want everybody to HEAR Randys music:

Randys Music

He has 36 tracks to choose from there on the page so enjoy!

You have his myspace homepage link so if you want to give him any advice or input/praise...please do so.

We need MORE people like Randy in our United States Eurodance fan base.

He is from Los Angeles, California and thats a great place to spread the music around
