This must be my week for Canadian bands and it wasnt even planned.

During basic training, my friend i went in with in the 'buddy system whom is still my best friend, had a couple of squadmates that we hung out with when we would get to go to the onbase bars.

Lewis and Devore.

Lewis was more like me and my friend Mike, and Devore was one of those self-professed ladies men that thought he was all that and a bag of chips.

However, he was fun to hang with.

He had this thing we later found out in permanent party down in Ft. Hood, that he liked to use a head sweatband and would try to act like he was cool.

Finally one day while we were all drinking Southrn Comfort and 7up, Mike asked him why he wore that headband and what it had to do with "being cool".

He said "you know Loverboy?"

well of course we did, they were somewhat new but very popular on the radio.

Well, Mike Reno wears head bands and a lot of women thought he was hot, so Devore thought he would capitalize on it.

Devore was a tough ,muscular guy, and the type that women thought was attractive. He didnt NEED the headband!!!

We all thought he looked silly in it and suspected so did the women.

Well, we did NOT follow suit by wearing a headband ourselves and that was that.

Loverboy is a band that I like a lot of songs by, but there IS something about Mike Reno that just strikes me funny and I cant quite shake the idea that maybe he too, is like Devore and dressed that way for the reasons Devore did...lol

Like Alex, I like to give certain songs funny names such as Loverboys song "Lovin Every Minute Of It " became "Rubber baby Buggy Bumper"

Try singing it that way sometime...its fun!!  :o)

"Notorious" was a good song that I think had that 80s sound to it that I just couldnt get enough of.

I think it would be really cool if all you ladies could tell me what you think of Mike Reno being a "ladies man".

Does he cut the mustard?

YOU be the judge...while we're on the subject of him, this is what he looks like now:
